Just back from the MIPCOM event in France and on the eve of the holiday season, Corporation Image Entertainment and its partner company Branscome International were pleased to report a positive response following the official launching of the WALTER & TANDOORI animation series ( 52x11’). Corporation Image Entertainment is pleased to announce the launch of the first ecological multiplatform project with the animated television series WALTER & TANDOORI in collaboration with the French-language network Radio Canada, starting August 14, 2010. The series will be broadcast every Saturday morning, starting at 8:30 am. The television launch of the series will be backed up by the interactive website called WALTERRE, a French word play on earth/terre: www.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse.... To continue the adventures contained in the series, the website invites participants to play mini games with ecological themes on their own or with other visitors to the site as well as dialogue, create an avatar or a jaunt into the neighbourhood of our two favourite characters, all the while accumulating eco points which will serve to make our planet more green. In addition, users will be able to continue to watch the webisodes on the Radio-Canada website.

Image Entertainment Corporation, a major player in film production and 2D and 3D animation in Quebec and Canada just finalized a $50 million financing for Walter - a TV series for television, a feature animation film and interactive games linked to environmental issues.
Montreal, January 23, 2012. Mr. Sylvain Viau, founding president and executive producer at Image Entertainment Corporation Inc. is pleased to announce the successful completion of a $50 million financial package for the Walter franchise including :
• Walter, an animated series, 65 episodes ;
• Walter and Tandoori 1 and 2, animated series, 104 episodes ;
• Walter and Tandoori’s Christmas, an 85-minute feature animation film produced with the new Quebec break-through technology, 3D SENS Pro ;
• Walter’s World, a hybrid series, 13 episodes ;
• Walter’s Earth Day, a 90-minute feature live action production ;
• Walterre, an interactive web game.
Sylvain Viau president of Corporation Image Entertainment opened a new 2D animation studio in the city of Sherbrooke. With the help of its financial partners, Sherbrooke Innopole and Emploi-Québec, 25 jobs had been created allowing for a better control of cost and quality of productions such as the second season of Walter and Tandoori.
The film Walter & Tandoori’s Xmas is part of the list of 21 films submitted to the Academy Awards 2013 competition in the category for best animated film. The 10 films that will be nominated will be announced January 10, 2013. Fingers crossed!
The second volume of the trilogy of Walter published by Éditions La Presse is now available in bookstores. After the first volume entitled On choisit ses amis, pas sa famille!, the author Bryan Perro offers: Les voyages forment la jeunesse! With humor and puns, it tells the story of Walter’s trek at the end of which he will meet his accomplice Tandoori.
