Our year started off on the right foot with president Sylvain Viau being invited to sit as a panellist at the Forum Blanc 2011, helping to lead the debate at the forum activity on training, reflection and exchanges between professionals, for a 360° vision surrounding the animation and cross-media theme. This event was organised by the CITIA (La Cité de l’Image en mouvement d’Annecy).

Mr. Viau shared his knowledge and experience as a producer during the conference entitled “Nouvelles mesures d’incitation canadiennes et point de vue d’un producteur canadien – new measures of Canadian incentives and the point of view of a Canadian producer”, chaired by Mrs. Monique Simard, director general of French programming at the National Film Board of Canada. The impact of this conference on the European market was felt almost immediately with several French production houses approaching the president to discuss possible future Canada-France coproductions.

Forum Blanc – Annecy, France

During the 3 days, the Forum Blanc welcomed 166 participants most of whom came from Europe and included senior managers, studio directors, production directors, project managers, writers, developers, those with editorial responsibilities, those with commercial and marketing responsibilities, those with legal responsibilities in the animation, video games, television broadcasting and the new interactive services and mobile telephone sectors.
